A preliminary cloud-free satellite Chl_a product for the SEACOOS domain

Created jointly with:

Institute for Marine Remote Sensing

Note: These sequences of Chlorophyl images are intended for a quick look at the large-scale patterns of variability. By compositing all images for each day and smoothing over and filling gaps due to clouds, we have created a gapless visualization tool. The composite plus the OI algorythm (performed on the log of the raw data) result in weakened fronts and on days of high cloud cover spurious data may occur. For a more detailed and accurate (potentially gappy) view of Chlorophyl features that appear in these images we recommend viewing the original hi-resolution images at IMARS.
